New York State Election Law places aggregate yearly limits on the amount of political contributions that can be made by individuals and corporations to a New York State PAC.
Individuals
A New York State PAC may receive no more than $150,000 from a particular individual per calendar year. Please note that any contribution to a New York State PAC counts towards an individual’s $150,000 per calendar year maximum donation amount for all state and local political contributions combined. Married couples each get their own $150,000 aggregate individual contribution limit in a calendar year.
Corporations
A corporation may contribute a total of up to $5,000 per calendar year to all PACs, state and local political contributions combined. Each affiliated or subsidiary corporation, if a separate legal entity has its own limits.
LLCs and LLPs
A New York State PAC may receive no more than $150,000 from an LLC per calendar year. Please note that any contribution to a New York State PAC counts towards an individual’s $150,000 per calendar year maximum donation amount for all state and local political contributions combined. Contributions given from a Partnership including a LLP are subject to the underlying partner’s individual limits. The partners do not get an additional limit thru a partnership.
